The Vision of FMI

My heart yearns for a beautiful restoration of the family mission. What a glory it will be to see thousands of families rise to this call as they fulfill the great commission through vitally needed ministry that is by the family and for the family.

The modern missions movement is faced with a terrible crisis. At the heart of this crisis is the family. Sadly, much of our efforts in missions today have been characterized by a total disregard and outright rejection of the Biblical family. Families have too often been viewed as a burden rather than a blessing to missions. Furthermore, while evangelism efforts have been feverishly carried out on every corner of the globe, almost no emphasis has been placed on furthering works of family discipleship. While the gospel message has been embraced by millions, its life-transforming power for the family is virtually unknown.

As I reflect on the current situation, I am gripped by a sense of urgency. This is the time of opportunity for us to engage in the major battle of our generation – the battle for the family. It must be fought on every front. The message must be proclaimed in every tongue and brought to every tribe.

May the results of our efforts be that thousands of families worldwide commit themselves to actively making disciples of families. May millions receive desperately needed training on how to disciple their children and establish a healthy and growing family for the glory of God.

It is because of this vision that Family Mission International seeks to become the first mission organization dedicated to the rebuilding of the family worldwide. At this time the Lord has blessed us with the opportunity to serve and promote family missions by:

  • Restoring family-based missions through the formal founding of this ministry - the only mission organization today specifically upholding family-based missions. The official launching of our website now gives us a platform to proclaim this message to the world.
  • Equipping churches to engage families in world missions as we develop ministry partnerships with family friendly churches in preparation for mobilizing their congregations in family ministry.
  • Creating service opportunities for family missions with family home-stays, the Adopt a Family program, and the raising up of Family Mission Teams that are currently serving on the mission field carrying out vitally needed family focused ministry.
  • Defending, restoring, and rebuilding the Biblical family with our presence at conferences and churches throughout North America and in South Korea, and as we assist with the translation and publications of materials that promote a return to Biblical family culture.
  • Promoting Christ-centered and family-centered education with the current development of the first ever Korean K-12 homeschool curriculum, the on-going ministry of the Christian Home Education Association of Korea, and through homeschool conferences and camps for Korean homeschooling families.

We have committed ourselves to the family mission and stand absolutely firm for this vitally important cause. There is much exciting work that lies before us. We enthusiastically invite you to join us in this world-changing mission. Would you consider blessing this ministry through regular giving and prayer? Possibly your family would be willing to participate in our Adopt-A-Family program? Maybe the Lord is even calling you to join one of our Family Mission Teams?

With a heart that overflows with thanksgiving we praise our Lord for His glorious plan for the family and the magnificent way in which He has called us to labor for His glory.

We trust Him for a great work!

Standing for the family mission,

Brad Voeller
