Home School Curriculums Now! The Speedy Way to Provide Home School Curriculum to Korean Families

Realizing the tremendous need for curriculum in Korea, we have continually asked the Lord for creative ways to help families get started in home schooling even with very little resources. We have become aware of good books, supplies, and resources that are currently available in Korea , we have realized that although there is not a specific home schooling curriculum, there are many wonderful tools that families can use right now in the home schooling of their children. However without a guide introducing these tools and explaining how to use them for home schooling, it is impossible for families to be aware of these tools or know how to successfully implement them.

In order to meet this need we are writing a curriculum and resource guide that explains what resources are available and how to obtain them through both local Korea n and US suppliers. The guide will cover all the various academic subject areas and additional parent /teacher resources. Not only will this guide describe the strengths and weaknesses of the various curriculums , but it will also explain specifically how they might be used effectively in the home schooling context. Th e Home School Curriculum Guide is certain to be like manna from heaven to home school families starving for more resources. Thankfully, the majority of the content s for this guide have already been collected through the volunteer efforts of many home school family and student researchers.

However, there is significant work that remains. Someone must be hired to do the huge task of editing all the collected information and putting it in a logical template and format. Once this is done, th e guide will be posted on the Christian Home Education Association of Korea, CHEA , website where it can easily be accessed by our Korean home school families. We are asking the Lord for $ 2, 000 so that this project can be brought to completion. We need to hire a person who can do th e remaining compiling, editing , additional translating, and research. Also another person is needed who can attend to the technical aspects of getting the material formatted and posted on the website. Posting the materials on the website will ensure that this valuable resource is not only freely available for all home schoolers, but also that the contents can be continually improved and made better as people post additional recommendations that will be added to the guide. We anticipate God’s gracious provision resulting in the completion of the guide very soon. There is much work to be done in developing various textbooks, resources, and entire curriculum programs. However, this is the first step , and we expect God to bring a great blessing to the home schooling community though this work.
